An unforgettable event
The event, "Costa d’ Amalfi in the Middle Ages,” will recreate a historic evening to immerse participants in a medieval atmosphere that combines food, music and theater. Upon their arrival, guests will be given period costumes to wear for the duration of the evening. A welcome reception served under the gazebo will feature a buffet of specialty foods that represent the bounty of the Amalfi Coast. Following the reception, a bountiful dinner will be served.
The dinner menu has been created based on information found in historical documents that describe the essence and ingredients of the region’s medieval kitchens. Between each course, rituals and performances will take place, while food and wine is served on plates and in pitchers designed to match those used in the Middle Ages. The grand finale of the evening is a theatrical and music performance that recalls the medieval stories, myths and legends of the Amalfi Coast during the height of the Maritime Republic. Over the course of two hours, guests will enjoy an unparalleled cultural and historical experience in a unique and important archaeological site. Following dinner under the stars, guests are invited to enjoy the breathtaking panoramas from the garden of the Crypt.
